Christensen Brothers Construction Testimonials

We completed a major kitchen and master bath remodel of our home in first half of 2015 - finally getting around to writing this review :). Christensen Brothers Construction handled all the Civil and Structural work (foundations, framing and new window installations) - they did an excellent job, at a competitive price and were exceptionally professional - we will definitely use Christensen Brothers again on our next remodel or new construction.

Christensen Brothers are finishing up the rough framing for our addition and they did a great job. We are very satisfied. Their bid was competitive, they were able to start work as soon as we were ready for them and the framing was well reviewed by both the building inspector and my structural engineer. Their crew are friendly and respectful and I felt comfortable having them at the site with my family living in the house. Josh and Jesse are organized, professional and responsive. They run the business but work on site too so you aren’t paying extra for management overhead. We would definitely work with them again!

The Christensen Brothers were instrumental in getting us through our remodel. We interviewed several contractors, and once we met Josh and Jesse, we knew we had found the right company to work with. We hired Josh and Jesse for the framing portion of our project, but ended up using them for more than just framing. We asked them for referrals for other portions of the project, and they stood behind any of the subs they recommended.

Christensen Brothers are incredibly knowledgeable about the remodel process, they made suggestions along the way to make the end result even better! Our architect, who had never worked with the Christensen Brothers commented, “These guys know what they’re doing”… The Christensen Brother’s stand behind their work. When the crew was working, they were very respectful of our home, and we were grateful for the craftsmanship of the crew. We heartily recommend Christensen Brothers Construction, and have referred them to colleagues and friends throughout Alamo.

The Christensen Brothers framed my dream home. It was 5500 square feet. I am a sub contractor and over 33 years I have dealt with hundreds of contractors. They were easy to deal with. They did a great job in a timely fashion. I was the general on my home. The county required several outside engineer inspectors. Everything was fine. They built a cabana for me later and that went just as well. I give them an A plus.

These guys are great. They framed a very complex ground-up restoration on a house that I designed in Napa. They handle problems easily, communicate well and keep a very clean jobsite. I highly recommend them.

Highly recommend (I wouldn’t use anyone else). These guys take pride in their work, do not cut corners, work very fairly through unexpected issues, communicate well, move project along in timely fashion, leave you with a top-quality product, and the pricing for all that is very reasonable. They’ve done 2 projects for me: a 600 s.f. pool-house in Pleasant Hill in 2005, and a custom 5,200 s.f. home in Lafayette from 2013-2014. I never lost any sleep during the custom-home project worrying about the quality, getting ripped off on changes or side work for sub-contractors, corners being cut, etc. The framing (a lot of it complex) was done entirely by CBC. They even helped me out with some on-the-fly designing during the framing stage as they offered both standard and creative solutions. Their network of sub-contractors is solid; most were exceptional (you won’t get better). I had CBC and every sub do some extra work for me, and all were reasonably priced so there’s no gouging going on. You often hear about builds & remodels going bad because of the contractor. On my block, out of the last 4 construction projects, 2 of them were a nightmare for the owners. You won’t get that from CBC, they just don’t operate that way.

They did a complete remodel of my Oakland Hills home in 2011. I have been in the construction management business for years, and picked these guys after seeing their work on a neighbors house. Their bid was fair, I actually picked it over another contractors bid for less move I ever did (and the amount was not very much, maybe a few grand)...

That decision saved me a ton in additional change orders and more than anything, these guys turned me on to a fabulous team of sub contractors. As far as the change orders go, these guys were always super cool about it. Some guys always count on plan changes to make their profit, not Jesse and Josh. They deal with the changes (usually an architect mistake or oversight, or even owner changes) as realistic changes, not an opportunity to exploit the owner.

If you want fancy paperwork and secretaries who you are paying salaries for, go with someone else. If you want to get the work done right and be able to contact someone with authority at any time on his cell phone, the use these guys....

We have been running a successful high end remodeling company with over 25 years, and consider Christensen Brothers to be an essential part of our team, we rely on their experience to help bring together the architects vision, structural challenges and the homeowners dreams.

The Christensen Brothers have incredible skill and range working on homes from modest 120 square foot additions to new 12,000k square foot mansions, in a variety of architectural styles. They are adaptive and accommodating, often suggesting good alternative building methods to solve problems, always providing at least 3 different ways to solve a given task.

They are a great resource to have on the job site, with a thorough understanding of current building codes and structural plans. They have the ability to navigate intricate architectural plans, build complicated roof systems, squeeze strong walls into tight spaces and install huge supporting beams.

Being creative and inventive, they seem to look forward to complicated framing challenges, often helping to reinvent a shear wall with a engineer to make a window or garage door work structurally and aesthetically. They bring in new ideas from current and past projects. Maybe most importantly they look forward to the finished product even before the framing starts.

Jessie and Josh are good people to the core, and are great collaborators to have on the job site.
Their crews are respectful and hard working, always striving to meet our deadlines. They take pride in their work, are dependable, driven and and their work is built to last.”
